I'm embarrassed to ask this, but I haven't been able to find the answer by searching forums.

iPaq 5500. Having 128MB of RAM onboard, I've hitherto used storage card(s) pretty much in read-only mode. Now I've started using an SD card as overflow for various media files, and I wonder how I go about logically unmounting the card before I flip it out and plug it into my laptop? Or is it just a matter of waiting 5 minutes and hoping all writes have been completed?...

It's a matter of waiting, but I don' think you need to go 5 min. Guess it would be nice to have a drive indicator light, or some cue that everything is done, but that's not happening.

If you want to be fairly sure, you could check the running programs with a task switcher. If there isn't anything open, it likely isn't being accessed.

As I feared (though it does explain why I don't remember reading how to do it. :? ). Thanks Sven.
