Hello there,
Just wondering if anyone has been able to successfully sync via bluetooth to two computers that are on the same network (and preferably behind a router).
If you have if you could please reply to me and lmk how you have the router setup as well as the host computers as I am thinking of getting two dongles for both of my machines which is one plugged directly into the router and the other using a WiFi card.

Bluetooth has nothing to do with the routers, WiFi cards, direct connection, nada.
BT is like having a serial cable straight from the PPC to each of the PCs.
If you get BT dongles for each each machine they will show up as independent entities when the PPC searches for BT devices during pairing. Pick one or the other, get BT AS working. Then do it again but picking the other PC this time.
This is going to be a darned sight easier with a device with the widcom stack and UI (WM2003SE Dells and HPs) as it will create a connect icon for each PC in the BT manager. Honestly not sure how this is going to work with an MS stack or WM5 as There is only a Connect via BT item in AS. Don't know if it will let you choose which paired PC to connect to as I have been having a heck of a time getting even one WM5 device to work via BT.

Well,
I am referring to an X50 here so are you saying I will be able to choose which PC I want to sync to or?

Yes. When you open BT Manager on the Dell and elect to add a new connection, it will present you with a list of things you might want to connect to, headsets, etc. One is to a PC for ActiveSync. The next step is for the X50 to search for available BT partners, which will show in a list. Assuming both your PCs have BT and are in discoverable mode, they will both show up. You pick one and it will go through the pairing dance. The PC will say there is someone knocking, do you want to let them in? Set a Password (PIN). Then you go back to the PPC and enter the same password, and they pair. They will try to set up a serial connection, and here is where it is dependent on the PC side equipment. Some implementations will create a virtual BT serial port on the PC at that time. What you need to do is go into the BT software on the PC and see what comm port it has added to the BT repertoire. Then you go into AS and set that comm port as the serial sync port.
Once that is done you should have an ActiveSync with MyPC icon in BT manager on the PPC. Double Click, or tap and hold and select Connect. Should connect.
For the second PC/Laptop, you just do it again, but of course select the other PC, and you wind up with an ActiveSync with MyOtherPC icon.
Some desktop implementations let you assign a comm port for BT up front, before you try pairing, and if so, you could set up AS with that port beforehand too. This depends entirely on the BT OEM.
