View Full Version : Win 1 of 10 Copies of FlexWallet 2006 from Two Peaks Software
Jason Dunn

<a href="http://www.twopeaks.com/flexwallet/pocketpc.aspx">FlexWallet 2006</a> is my #1 favourite and most-used program on my Pocket PC - if I have a stock Pocket PC and FlexWallet installed, I can do 99% of what I normally do with my Pocket PC day to day. The latest version of FlexWallet add some much-needed features, and didn't get slower like many new versions of software tends to. So, in short, I dig it.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/flexwallet-2006-logo.gif" /><br /><br />Two Peaks has offered up 10 copies of the software to give away, valued at $29.95 USD each. To win a copy, all you have to do is post a message in the discussion thread telling me how you'd use the software, what types of things you'd put in it, etc. Myself, I use it to track Web site usernames and passwords, credit card information, bank accounts, etc. But I've also created custom cards for keeping track of server information, cards for how much printer ink (and which colours) I have, and hardware cards where I record the serial number and warranty information for new gear I purchase. How would you use FlexWallet?<br /><br />I'll randomly draw 10 winners from this thread. Rememer, only one post per person, and the contest ends Monday the 19th at 3 PM GMT -7. Good luck everyone!

I use the new Sprint PPC 6700 daily and Show it to many people I would like To have an application that can protect my personal data. In my role as an evangelist for mobile products it would be great to show a product like this to my customers and professors.
Sent from my Motion Tablet.
My Samsung i730 arrives tomorrow! I want to transfer all my ID and PW, website logins and pertinent info to a wallet program. Right now everything is in the "Notepad" area of my Palm M105 8O

hhhhmmmm....
well, at the moment, i have most of passwords, bank accounts, software serial numbers and registration info, "black book," favorite source code clippets, etc. in Memopad - so, what i am going to do is to FIRST export them to FlexWallet, and have a worry-free and secure means of managing (and putting to good use) ALL those information...
hey, what else can i do with it?
cheers!!!
PS: i just counted ALL those records, and i have passed the 200-th mark already... and i really need an efficient way to access this kind of information - and i think FlexWallet would help me with it.

I would store all of my web passwords and logins.
I would store banking info, but most of that has dissipated as my supply of tech gadgets grows.

I'm getting old so I can't remember anything. I keep all my passwords, account numbers, credit card numbers and top secret info stored on my PPC.
I use E-Wallet, but I hear this program is far superior.

12-15-2005, 04:29 AM
What would I use it for...
The obvious ones are keeping track of personal details; insurance, bank accounts, credit cards, frequent flyer details etc.
On the work side; user accounts/passwords, server account passwords, VPN passwords (24 characters long - upper/lower case, numbers and puncuation required), software details/codes, hardware details (SN, name, IP details, passwords, service tag, RAM, user, warranty etc.), work credit cards, user phone details (extension, voicemail code etc.), website links/codes and finally security access information (user, card no., access level and PIN).
I keep track of these details for the entire company. As IT Manager/Security Manager I need access to all this information, usually very late at night or really early in the morning.

I currently store my passwords in a plain text file in an encrypted ZIP archive. In total, I have 10KB of passwords which, if printed out, would span 15 pages.
I think I'm ready for a better solution. :)
O.K., for everything everybody uses it, INCLUDING the need to store some phone numbers and keep them ... just for me! :devilboy:

Not only would I use this software for the normal mundane stuff ie: Credit Caards, Bank Accounts, Passwords, Web Sites. I would also use it to keep track of my Pocket Thoughts Log In Info! So that I may never forget my username and password when I want to post! I would also use this software to keep a running catalog of all my ebooks, and all of game and software codes. Which I store them online now! Plus, last but not least, my Dell Axim X51V is hungry for this software! In fact my Dell wants it so badly, that it has promised Santa PC, not to lock up and white screen of death me. It is being very good and I think it deserves a gift!

Well, I used flexwallet to store information on bank accounts, credit cards, passports, important web login IDs... you'know, the usual stuff.
I also hide a few numbers from girls I've met from bars... just in case my girlfriend takes my pocketpc and plays with it . :devilboy: just joking.

Well I guess I could use it the same way I use the previous version that I use now - store all my URL links and passwords. I'm still very nervous about keeping any sensitive data on my PDA.
Looks like I hit that famous error mark '404' in my life 8)

Well - to hold all that afformentioned stuff I've been using a loose combination of the built-in 'Notes' app and some Excel Spreadsheets. This looks like it could handle both my notes and passwords, accounts etc. so that'd be my main usage!

Right now I use Docs to Go on my Handspring Visor to track Credit cards and bank accounts and other "secret info". Sitting under the tree right now waiting for Solstice is a nice new Ipaq 3715 that would love FlexWallet installed on it.
I have around 20 passwords to remember at work. Couldn't do it without Flexwallet :). Also, bank/creditcard numbers and ATM codes. I also have a huge list of bought programs with order IDs and registration keys.

I take care of my parents bills and credit cards. So it would prove especially useful to me so I can store personal information securely. Storing: SS numbers, Account info, Credit card numbers and Banks acct info.
For my own personal use I would store Log-in information for web sites and email accounts. Thats the type of info I am always losing or cant remember easily.

Sweet, I've been using FlexWallet for quite a while now, it's definitely one of the most used programs on my Pocket PC. Everytime my router needs to be reset it's picking up a new WAN IP, so I've recently been using FlexWallet quite a bit to track my home IP address. I also store software keys, account numbers, web site logins, and a bunch of other stuff. Wouldn't mind getting the latest version. :)

With this siftware I'd be able to store all my passwords, banking details, credit card details, document passwords and more without ever wondering if I could remember the different ones. It means that I could stop the bad habit of a single password for multiple functions. And I could also use it to keep track of sensitive ideas without using multiple solutions to do so.

I thought I was a little :devilboy: remembering passwords. But having to deactivate my account in this forum made me think different. I neeeed a password manager  . Maybe I´m getting old ???
I think the replies so far have pretty much covered everything! I would store the obvious bank / card details, passwords, Passport information, national insurance details etc.

Well, of course my passwords and usernames for all the forums (though I try to use the same...) my families MAC adresses, finally a way to store my credit card access code safely, other banking details, WEP keys, software keys, insurance details (new health insurance system introduced in Jan 2006 in Holland, will be needing the info handy), hardware serial numbers, different email accounts and passwords, and I can probably think of some more things I would like to keep in a secure program instead of a note...
(and it would make a great welcome/christmas gift...  )

If I receive one, I'll throw it back in the pot to be drawn again! When I had one of my iPaqs, I got Developer One's Code Wallet with it, and picked up the desktop version on a magazine covermount.
When I moved to my Loox 720, I bought Ilium's EWallet, but never got around to filling it with my details, although I'd taken a copy of my CodeWallet cards. So, now I've bought the newest version of CodeWallet Pro with the desktop version and updated my cards.
If these programs provided an easy conversion tool from a previously owned competitor, I'd be interested, but as they don't .....!

Actually I already use it - for my Smartphone. I also use v2005 for my PDA, but would like the 2006 version, so I can share password files on my PDA/Smartphone.
I use it for account information, be that banking, network logins etc. Also, I have all of my licenses registered in there, so I'll always have ONE place to look for all of my software licenses. Which means when I do a reset of one of my devices - it's easy to register the software again.
Also - PIN codes for phones and credit cards. Logins for websites and webshops. So, it's safe to say I use it extensively and often :)
Among the items already mentioned, I also keep a list of cards I have in my wallet, so that if it is lost/stolen I know who I need to contact to get cards cancelled and/or replaced.
This is especially important for such things as the "blue card" (positive notice for child related employment) for which it is an offence to not notify the relevant government department of a card having been lost or stolen.

I came from Palm OS, where I had all my web logins, passwords, and registration codes in Splash ID. After moving to a Dell Axim x51v, it would be convenient to have a high quality wallet app like FlexWalet that would take advantage of the VGA screen.

I am using an older version of Codewallet Pro on my new WM5 device.
I use it store my personal information about my car, fianancial sites, passwords to various sites, and registration information from all the software that I own.
I also use it for business to keep track of all the logins I need for things like database servers, unix boxes (dev, UAT, and PROD), etc.
I was thinking of upgrading to a WM5 version of CodeWallet but figured that I would post here to see if I could win a copy of Flex.

Plus:

Website url's (and username/password if needed)
Safe and padlock combinations
My eyeglass prescription
Hotel/airline/rental car reservations
My family's social security numbers
My cars VIN, and ignition key code
In the encrypted section I'd store the names, addresses, and phone numbers I have to keep secret:
NORAD's dial-in number

Salmon Rushdie
Elvis
Lemony Snicket

Send me in, coach!
My Axim is my real brain to store useful information whilst my organic brain sifts that information and makes key, informed decisions like what's for lunch. Life now requires so many passwords, bank account numbers, PIN codes, medical accounts, etc., that no normal human being can memorize them all. Helping keep that information secure provides a great sevice in the current world. My hat's off to those like who've answered that need with products like FlexWallet. 8)

I would love to have a copy of Flexwallet. I would use it for the usual, passwords for websites, software, etc. Keep track of bank accounts, credit card, insurance policies, spouse and childrens ss numbers etc.
I would also use it at the office, as I am cad manager. I think this program would be perfect to keep track of all our plot styles, pen settings, block libraries, line weight and type, etc. I would also like to try it out to see how it would work to keep a record of our building projects, to create a card for each building showing square footage, construction type, use group. siding and roof color etc.
:) On top off all this it would just be cool to win something once. Thanks for the contest!

I have been thinking of upgrading to the new version because I use an older version of FlexWallet on my PPC and Smartphone to augment my aging memory for things like:
* Credit cards, bank accounts, and other financial information on the rare occasion my wife lets me spend money.
* ISP and Hosting information along with all the domain usernames/passwords
* Server logons for home and work
* The usual web stuff (like PocketPCThoughts login!)
* My wife's vital statistics to cover my rear on those special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, day we met, etc.
* PocketPC and PC software registrations
* Hardware information for personal computers/network
* Secrets about the boss that I don't want to share with co-workers (but need for blackma.., er, ah, negotiations)
* There was some other secret stuff, but I did not get it entered and now I can't remember it! This getting old is tough!
When I think of FlexWallet, I think: "Thanks for the memories!" cause it provides a secure place to store my memories. Yeah, that was rather lame...

I would use my copy to store credit card numbers, website passwords (especially for school - so many different passwords), important personal info, info about my car, and other information i come across that I don't want prying eyes to see :)

To be quite honest, I'm not really sure how I'd use it since I not sure what it does. However, I'm always game for trying out new software of any kind.

Man, I used this in my older 3650 and it was extremely useful! Now that my company no longer will purchase a unit for me, I bought a PPC 6700 and NEED this application for it! I have to keep track to way too much "stuff", like passwords, account numbers, lots of things that I can't do in Pocket Outlook (but try to).

Well, I would probably store my password information for my new X51v in it, but then I wouldn't be able to access the password to open my X51v which would in fact have the password stored within...
Aiight, I'm just kidding... my new Axim would LOVE this new software and I would be a very happy storer of all things financial and identifiable.

I'd probably use it for the following:
Credit cards, bank accounts, Insurance policy numbers, brokerage passwords, etc.
ISP information along with all the domain usernames and passwords
Logons for home and work for my computer, my wifes computer, the kids computer
Web logons for on-line accounts and forums
Important numbers like library cards, SIN numbers, health care numbers
PocketPC and PC software registrations
Hardware information for work and personal computers and network configurations
Thanks for the contest
Gord
I'd use it for:
Website usernames and passwords
Software serial numbers
Credit card pin numbers
To record info from the 7 PC's on my network
I'm sure I'd use it for other things as well, but I can't think of any right now.

I would store registration key numbers for the programs that I have cab files stored on my SD card.
That way, if I have to reinstall something while away from my desktop, I can enter the registration key that's stored in FlexWallet 2006.

I use FlexWallet and have for years. Love it. If I get a free copy here, I'll donate it to one of the pastors at our church, who would definitely benefit from it for passwords, account numbers, and all the wonderful stuff we do with wallet software. I've recently converted him from the Palm-based world (Sony Clie, to be exact, which is much worse) to a donated Dell Axim X3i.

Yup, it's just like that.
I would store around 100 pieces of info in it. Credit card numbers, web site logins, account numbers (Vonage, DirecTV, etc.), e-mail logins, social security details, bank accounts, personal coupons, etc.
Hope I get it :-)

Being able to organize into levels and with sub-categories would make on-line work much easier and more attractive. The "Recently Used Cards" would be especially helpful. Human memory and dexterity is not what it must be in such cases.

I use FlexWallet currently. Let me see what I use it for:
a) All the financial stuff, b) all the techy password stuff, c) Passport / Green Card details, d) Software Activation Codes.
I'm hoping you draw me so I can get a free upgrade. Otherwise I'll be having to get it myself.

Sounds like a handy utility. I don't have anything like this, but I can see myself putting credit card, bank info and passwords, pin numbers and the like in there. As long as it's secure, it would be nice to have to remember only one password instead of dozens!!! There's gotta be lots more you can store in there, but, like I said, I've never had a program like this before. I'd love to explore what I could do with it. :)

Hi,
If I had flex wallet I would use it for all of the secure items most people are referencing such as credit card information, passwords, lock combinations etc. but would benefit the most by noting my wifes measurements in a secure format so that I can buy her the proper size lingerie. I can't even try to count how many times I have set out to do a nice deed and buy a surprise just to have it backfire in my face. I don't like leaving information like that on my pocketpc/phone unprotected because you never know whose hands it can end up in. PLEASE CHOOSE ME AND HELP MY MARRIAGE!!!

I'll use FlexWallet 2006 for keeping things like:
Automobile info- VINs, license plates, insurance info, AAA info
bank account info
auto and mortgage loan info
2nd mortgage loan info :?
web site passwords- "fun" and "paying the bills" sites
scores and scores of passwords I use as a network admin
support account info, also for work
serial numbers and support info for my gadgets
health insurance accounts
homeowners insurance account and agent contact info
I use FlexWallet (2005) constantly throughout the day at work, and recently it saved my wife and 4 year old who locked themselves out of the van while out running errands. She left her purse in the van (Busted!) again and didn't have the AAA info. She called me at work but I was out at a conference, but I had my PDA with me so I called AAA for her and she was all set within 20 minutes. Earned myself some brownie points at the same time

-- The kazillion odd things I needed to use my junk email addys to sign up for
-- FTP info
-- Library card info
-- Association/membership info

I would have to say that of all the Pocket PC Software I use, Flex Wallet 2005 is the most used. Why? Because I can't remember every userid and password for literally dozens upon dozens of websites and sofware applications that I must accesss.
It is a blessing because of forced password changes and having an easy way to keep track of these changes. I am talking about regular passwords and PGP passwords for about 8 e-mail (job, personal, and home business) accounts for example. I also keep track of my wife's email and other business accounts to be of help to her.
I have over 100 individual icon entries. These also include bill paying. Flex Wallet makes bill paying extremely easy for me. Since it is password protected and encrypted I also keep a copy on my desktop PC at work, where I can pay an emergency last minute bill with no problem. The website url can be clicked on and take me right to the site to pay the bill and my userid and password are at my finger tips to quickly post a payment, check my checking and savings accounts balances, etc., etc.
I also keep my Pocket PC software registration keys locked up in Flex Wallet for easy retrieval when I need them.
Actually, I would make a lot more entries if I had more time, so I keep it to the most important. But over time, the categories and lists of icons keeps growing.
To tell the truth, I would feel terribly lost without Flex Wallet, it has allowed me to survive in this hectic electronic age.
I am looking forward to upgrading to version 2006 to get the additional icons that I have been waiting for.

Let's see.
I would use it to store
* a list of all of the software I have bought and their keys
* My credit card numbers
* websites and username / passwords
* car VINs and license plate numbers
* special account numbers
* mileage card numbers
* car rental memberships
* dionner clubs information
* bank acount information.
I need all of this information in one central location. Right now its fragment in multiple places. With my PPC in hand and a good catologue on my main machine, this is a good way to get started in centralizing everything.

Well, I feel dumb. I saw the $4.95 deal and jumped on it not realizing I had won the free one! Oops. I got online this morning and had an email for a free one. Oh well. I would like to turn my free code over to the first person to PM me. I will edit this message after I have gotten the first PM to indicate so. Hopefully I don't get in trouble for this, but it seems like the best solution. Standing by...
Well, it has been claimed now!
