When you study a programming related book and copy the code from the book, do you find yourself recoding what you coded all over again just to get a better understanding?

Depends. Everyone learns differently, and it depends on what you're doing. What I'll usually do is to first grab code and tweak it to gain an understanding... and then, depending on time, either I'll throw it out and rewrite from scratch or wait until the next project to do so.

Yea, thats true. I guess I was trying to figure out if there was a majority out there. Yea, I probably do it different all the time, just depending on what I am doing.
