Infared Trouble

I am trying to sync via Infared with my HP 4705 and Dell XPS laptop. I notice the infared icon shows up for a second at various times, but I cannot get a sync with the pocket pc. Is there something I can check to make sure it syncs?

Nevermind I got it working. Didn't realize that the IR port was on the botton of the device. :)
