LG Announces the PM80 T-DMB Pocket PC

The PM80 is a bit of a dinosaur spec-wise: an Intel Bulverde 312MHz processor, 64MB RAM, 64MB Flash ROM, an SD slot, a 3.5" QVGA (240 x 320) LCD, a 1420mAh Li-Ion battery, and Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition. However, it does support Korea's terrestrial digital media broadcasting service (T-DMB). They've also done the 'Apple thing' by making it available in black and white.

"windows mobile second edition": Too far, Too late

If I'm not wrong LG had licensed Palm OS few months ago. Now their first devise is powered by windows mobile. Whats happening ?? :duh: :worried:

Though it looks like a cool devise, but seems too skinny on specs. Nothing seems phenomenal or earth-breaking about this device. But on the other hand LG may give commensurate HEED to it regarding advertising(which most of the PPC manf don't give).
Also that iPOD looks nice and fationable 8) :clap:

This is obviously aimed at the local market, with a specialized function thats quite unrelated to the OS. I'm sure some-one who wants digital TV on the move willl not be too put apon to settled for WM2003SE, which also seems much more mature than WM5 at the moment in any case.

Yes this does seem to be a dinosaur in terms of its specifications and, as already noted, it looks like it is aimed at a very specific market.

All that said, from a design point of view I really like the look of this device.
