Tom Tom GPS cradle freezes my Axim X5

I have a Axim X5 300mhz version with 32mb ram and pocket pc 2002. I have been using this with Tom Tom GPS and the Tom Tom car cradle for a couple of years. Worked great untill I broke the screen on the Axim.

I bought a used X5 from Ebay and when I put it in the car cradle it will freeze up. My origanal one never did this. I called Tom Tom and they don ot know what the proble is, Dell says it is third party and will not support it.

Any Ideas as what may be causing this? I donot have the guts to try and swap screens.

Daft I know, but have you made sure the cradle isn't catching the cursor stick on the side of the unit?

The gps unit had gotten changed. Went into the gps properties and set the receiver to the Tom Tom one and put check mark in box. Fixed..
