active sync 4 question

Hi i have just found out that active sync 4 does not support sync. over a wifi network. As i am about to buy my first ppc could you answer this neewbie question.
Will ative sync 4 allow me to stream music and video files from my desktop over wifi. Failing that will a 3rd party software allow this or would i be better of with the previous os.

Activesync is not required to stream.
The default explorer has limited network capabilites.
You can't stream out of the box. You can overcome that by resco or media encoder
