Fairly simply actually - just copy the font you want into the \Windows\font\ folder, then soft reset. The font should then be picked up by any of the office applications.

Can you tell me what font you are trying to use? and exactly what steps you took copying the font over?

Hi,
thanks for reply
As you told to me I try to write the font into the \windows\fonts and then reset, but it takes no effect.
The font name is "AcadNusx.ttf" (its' Georgian font type).

maybe some kind of other format file has to be installed for pocket pc??
thanks in advance

Is it the same as this one http://www.georgian-language.com/download/Acadnusx.ttf ?

Let me test it and I'll get back to you.

Ok it worked for me. Let me outline the steps you need to take in full to use different fonts in Pocket Word:

1. As the post above, I copied the font file (*.ttf) from my PC onto my PDA, pasting it into the "\Windows\Fonts" folder. It's not necessary to use Activesync to do this - for instance you can transfer from your PC to a storage card, insert the card into your PDA, and then copy it over.

2. Soft Reset.

3. To use in Pocket Word, I opened up the application and opened a blank document. Click on Edit->Format... from the menubar (this gives the font options), and then selected the font from the dropdown menu. I was now able to write in the Georgian font.

Take note that this is quite different from changing the system font - that requires hacking the registry. Neither method will change the language of the OS either, the only difference will be the font used. If you need something to help input in a different language from English, then I suggest you look up AEKeyMapper:

http://ae.inc.ru/aekmap.php

This will only work on hardware keyboards only I'm afraid.

For soft input options, look up Interkey:

thank you for reply
I tryed all the steps and it worked. Now I can write in Georgian Language,
But there is one more problem. When I try to open some other *.doc files (not those files which I wroted on pcket word) I cannot see it in Georgian even if I change font form the menu bar (font option)
Those file which were writen on pcket pc can be opened and seen in Georgian without any problem

Hi ellia,

Glad it worked! For your current problem, have you tried blocking the text first before changing the font? You do this by selecting the text you want to change first (or click "Edit"->"Select all" if you want to change the font in the whole document), before trying a font change.

Of course first of all I select all the text and the try to change font, but it doesn't change it.

Ok, I got all of my documents to change fonts except where there are graphics involved. If any of your documents have graphics or tables (neither are rendered by Pocket Word, and are thus not selectable or editable), you'll need to select text around it.

And if you get as fed up with Pocket Word as I am, head over to http://www.softmaker.com and check out Textmaker - this program will open native desktop *.doc files, and save most of the formating (including graphics and tables), while giving almost all the functionality of MS Word on the desktop.
