Okay, for those interested, I've been monitoring via Google and have seen a number of European sites, mostly in France and Poland (?) putting up placeholders for the Acer N300 series, notably the n311 that I want worse than anything else in the world.

Well, today I found the first (in my searches) site that is taking orders for the n311! The availability says "On Order", but there is a price on the French site Boxprod.fr.

Price? 322 Euros before VAT! That's about $389 at the current exchange. If a decent seller like Expansys will offer it in the states, then you can expect to pay about that much, maybe closer to $375.

Here is a link to the Google-translated page:

Damn thats cheap, cheaper even then the N50 premium

The N310 which basically is the N311 without the wireless and with less memory is mad cheap too at 257€ excluding taxes.
Damn, never expected them to go this cheap.

Brighthand is reporting that the FCC has approved the N300 series for US release!

While that's not conclusive proof that you'll be able to buy this gem from Amazon instead of Expansys, Brighthand links through to the FCC's list of "items" associated with the device (including some interesting pics of the FCC goin' Abu Grahayb on an N311), one of which was a US-English user manual for the N300 series!

Check it out!

Unfortunately the manual isn't quite complete yet - it does mention WM5 however the screens are all of WM2003se and it also states that if you run out of power, you have approx 72 hours before you lose all data. I'm guessing this is a part conversion from a previous device's manual.
