Mobile LoneWorker (http://www.SlipstreamSolutions.co.uk/products/mLoneWorker.htm) is a powerful, multi-tiered .NET client-server application designed for wireless mobile devices. It is designed to help protect employees working alone in potentially hazardous or risky situations.
Employees who regularly work alone often utilize a 'buddy system' for reducing the risk associated with their job or situation. This involves checking in with a nominated colleague at regular intervals, causing an alarm to be raised if contact is not maintained at the required frequency. However, there are problems associated with this solution, not least of which the risk that human error could interfere with safe working practice.
Mobile LoneWorker (http://www.SlipstreamSolutions.co.uk/products/mLoneWorker.htm) eliminates many of the risks associated with working alone by providing automated prompts to lone workers on mobile devices that are portable enough to carry with them at all times (PDA or Smartphone).
Lone workers login to the system using a mobile device at the beginning of the day, then maintain their status throughout the day, updating when prompted by the system. The status of lone workers is automatically updated to the server using a wireless connection (such as WLAN, GPRS etc).
Supervisors can monitor the status of lone workers via a digital dashboard, where the status of lone workers is clearly displayed.
