hey guys!
i am a true newbie in this, sorry please forgive me.
my queastion is very simple. i am developing some software to a pocket pc. this is not important. what is, is that i have to be able to access a lan network with this program. my PC is connected to the lan directly. now i need my pocket pc to do the same. eventually it will be connected through an access point and WI-FI. yet now i have only my cradle to connect.
how can i make this connection?
so basiclly what will happen is that i connect my pocket pc into the cradle and it will be connected to the network (i guess with the same ip as the computer).
thank for the help!

I don't think it can be done, not with a USB type connection. No network protocol involved.

You can get an Internet connection using ActiveSync and Internet Passthrough. Usually, this must be enabled on ActiveSync running on the desktop.
This connection is not EXACTLY a direct internet connection, but for most purposes it is good enough.

You can't. While you can do an internet pass-through via the cradle and a PC connected to a network that has internet access, you cannot connect to assets on the lan via the cradle. It has to do with the IP protocols that are available in the Active Sync connection. When you do AS BTW, the system sets up a little IP network between the PPC and the PC. IIRC one is 192.168.55.100 and the other is .101. The process sort of sets the PC up as a router to forward packets from that network to the gateway the PC has. This little foreign network is why so many AS problems are cleared up by playing with firewalls. he PPC looks like an intruder, until you explain that it is OK.
Your best bet is to get a little Access point and a WiFi card for your PPC, if it isn't built in. Should be able to set that up for under $100 new. Maybe less on e-bay.
