So on my Axim x51v I have the screen toggle setup so I can turn the screen off while listening to music. Unfortunately it turns back on when a new song starts.
It didn't do this on my old iPaq 2215 or 4150 (no WMP10 though).
Anybody know anything about this?

Bizarre. :? I've not heard of that issue before.

Have you tried a soft-reset?

Strange. I have been wondering about why my X50V is always "on" even when toggled. I'm running WM2003SE

What do you mean by "always on"? The screen toggle in WMP10 Mobile on the X50v is only designed to turn the screen off. Everything else (i.e. all your applications and background processes) is still active.

I simply haven't spent time diagnosing...I figured some event in the background was triggering it but the angry dwarf may be onto something.

Sounds like a software problem. I've never had this issue on my X50v.

Maybe if we get a list of programs you both have installed, we could localise the problem down to a single program. :)

Yup, I think Darius is right. On a clean PPC, I had no problem. On the restored build, I had it happen twice except it's intermittent. What it might be is hard to say

I believe this is a list of all software installed on my PPC
AIM
Agile
TCPMP
iGuidance
Toy Golf
Full Hand Casino Demo
GeoRally
Texas Hold'em
pRSSreader
Microsoft Reader
logmein.com

Cybrid, any similar programs installed? :)

TCPMP-check
pRSSreader-check? theres two very similar named apps. http://www.happyjackroad.net/pocketpc/pocketRSS/pocketRSS.asp
Microsoft Reader-check

pRSSreader isn't the same as PocketRSS. The former is freeware, and can be found here: http://pda.jasnapaka.com/prssr/

TCPMP doesn't sound like the culprit. I've got that on my X50v and it's not causing any screen toggle issues.

Could it be Microsoft Reader? I doubt it, but the application presents with so many frustrating problems that I wouldn't totally discount it.

Maybe i'm missing something but how is can it be any of them... i mean i do have them installed but none of them are running when it occurs

Most likely due to a background process installed by a program. You may not think anything is running, but in reality, there are certain components of programs running in the background. If you want to determine whether the problem is software-based or hardware-based, try backing up your data and then performing a hard-reset (much like how Cybrid did). If you don't have any screen toggle problems after a hard-reset, you can pretty much bet that one of your programs is causing these issues.

Hmm don't want to do a hard reset now, so i guess i'll live through it and use TCPMP when i want to keep the screen off in the meantime. I love my ppc like a son/daughter but sometimes i want to give it a damn good spanking.
