Windows XP and RAM.

I put 4gigs RAM into my windows XP workstation, and XP only recognized 3gigs. BIOS recognized all 4 gigs of RAM.
/PAE has been added to boot.ini
/noexecute = optin

Any suggestion how to get XP to recognize all 4gigs of RAM ?

Normally, I wouldn't suggest this, but try disabling your paging file. Right-click My Computer, select Properties, then the Advanced tab, then Settings (under Performance), and the Advanced tab again. Next, press the Change button, and set your drive to "No paging file". Accept the changes, restart the computer, and see how much of the RAM is reported in Windows XP.

According to MS, the RAM limit for XP is 64GB. Now, I read a bunch of articles where people said things like, "I heard..." or "Someone told me..." without any kind of proof. I read an article from a MS MVP that said that when 4GB is installed (current motherboards), XP only uses 80% (3.2GB) for actual memory swapping and the rest is allocated for video, sound, peripheral control.
