Hi all,

The subject line says it all, I am looking for a good Pocket Word replacement that is not too fancy but can handle large word documents well. It would be nice if the program supports keyboard shortcuts because I use the Thinkoutside all the time.

Hope to learn and contribute a lot from this forum!

Thanks,
KK

I use Softmaker Software's TextMaker word processing. It seems to have all the functionality of desktop Word, even on a PPC. I'm a satisfied user.

I second the recommendation of Textmaker - it's about as close to desktop Word that you can get. There really isn't anything else out there that's more than a glorified Notepad.

If you can wait two weeks, Softmaker usually puts up Textmaker for sale on Nov 11. Price is $11.11. Considering the normal price, this is an amazing discount.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I am downloading the trial for Soft maker.

It would be interesting to try this out with the speech output software that I use. Since I am blind, I can't see the screen and use the Dell X50V with a software called Mobile Speak Pocket which reads out the text that appears on the screen. As long as the program uses standard windows controls, there shouldn't be much of a problem.

Thx,
KK.

Wow! that's an excellent price. I guess I can use the 30 day trial till they come out with the offer. :D
