Hey guys,
Long time lurker, new poster here. I've been doing a lot of research on WM5 upgrade for my ipaq (HX2755) and have concluded that I'll pass on it. However, there have been many praises about how the downgrade ROM that was coupled with the upgrade package does wonders compared to that of the one on HP's site. So here's my request for the downgrade utility that was packaged with the WM5 release. I would rather not pay for the upgrade package just so I can use the downgrade utility. If anyone could help me out with this, I'd be extremely grateful!

That's bizarre. Do you have any URLs which could point me to some of these so-called "praises"? Theoretically, the downgrade should utilise one of the existing Windows Mobile 2003 SE ROMs (probably the latest) that is available on the HP site -- so, it shouldn't be any different to upgrading the ROM yourself.

Sure thing! Here are a few:

There were a few others too but I can't seem to find the proper search keywords to dig them up.

Very interesting, and still bizarre. :)

Unfortunately, if you want to make full use of the downgrade feature packaged in the Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrade CD, then you will have to purchase it. Such is the nature of the game since there's a legal aspect associated with separating different components of the CD and repackaging them for download.

Sorry buddy, not on this site. Whether it bends the law or breaks the law (not that I really see a difference between the two), we discourage any form of cracking, warez and/or unlicensed modification of software. Period.
