Dear all,
problem: my RX3715 keeps turning on on itself. It has happened with different apps. Does anyone know the reason? I wake up in the morning only to find out that I ran out of battery (specially when I leave it on my night table after browsing the internet).
Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestons? Thanks!

What applications do you have installed?
This problem is commonly caused by an application which regularly updates itself from the internet -- e.g. Journal Bar. If you turn off any auto-update features, the problem should go away.

Do you make sure you shut down all apps before you lay it on the nitestand? Do you turn off WiFi? It is possible that if you leave WiFi on, when the unit wakes up for it's midnight housekeeping, WiFi will connect and some program will keep it on with internet activity. I too have a 3715 and don't have this issue. I have had it laying on my desk for a couple of days now, checking things occasionally and haven't even noticed any appreciable battery drain. Haven't been using WiFi though, or BT, and I use SPB Pocket Plus to shut down apps when I'm not going to be using the device for a while.
P.S. a PPC turning itself on periodically is normal. Your issue is that it isn't turning itself back off.

Sven and Darius...thank you both for your comments.
To answer your questions...I've made a significant investment in software with the purchase of this PPC. The only app I have with autoupdate is SbP Weather. I normally leave WiFi on and just press the off hardware button on the device.
At times it turns on in a matter of a couple minutes (anywhere between 1 and 5) just after I turned it off. If WiFi is left on, it's like the auto-off function of the PDA is ignored and it remains on until the battery almost drains all.
The issue I see is more related to auto turning on than it is related to WiFi. The PDA just turns on on itself (again, ocasionally, like when I went to bed in the middle of a Bust'em game only to wake up couple of minutes after by the background music of the game; PDA turned on again as if the game kept playing even with the PDA off).
It's not like it turns on on itself, say at 3 AM for regular housekeeping.
What I'm doing to avoid this problem is to make sure I turn WiFi off and any other app that might override auto turn off. That way I know that if it turns on couple of minutes after I pressed the off button, it will automatically turn off on itself again. A little annoying, yes and something I had never had to deal with with previous PDAs in the past.
Thanks again for your input.

That's kind of what I was getting at. For grins, try turning off the Wifi before shutting down and see if A) it still turns on, and B) it fails tio turn off. As I said once WiFi turns on, there may be something set to update, even something you don't realize, like AS on a schedule, a mail box, that is seen as activity. There are things like that. Take Media Player for instance. If it is playing, the unit won't shut off, even if it is laying on the table with no one around it. Makes sense as you wouldn't want to have to tap the screen constantly to reset the time out.
Most apps that do updates can be configured to not do updates if there is no connection, but if there is one for some reason, their activity can keep the unit on.
I'm not using SPB weather at the moment, but you might want to check it's configuration to see how updates are set up.

I've played with Spb Weather from high to low and it shouldn't be causing auto-on problems. So micho, since you don't really have any program-related issues, this most definitely sounds like a Wi-Fi issue as Sven suggested.
