have you guys heard of any Irda recievers that can be hooked up with a desktop? If so, tell me which sort is good.

Looks like there are a LOT of them:

I used one years ago and it worked fine. They're such a simple device I can't see one being much better than another.

I agree with Jason. I'm not sure what your plans for an IR receiver are, but if you're going to use it to transfer files to and from your Pocket PC, I'd suggest buying a Bluetooth USB adapter (if your Pocket PC has Bluetooth).

A couple of advantages: (1) You don't need to be in the line of sight, and (2) faster transfer rates. Having said that, Bluetooth does require a few extra steps to set up, as opposed to IR which is quick and easy to use.

it's for transferring files to my pocket pc. unfortunately, i don't have a bluetooth device :(
