Is D3DM in Windows Mobile 5 PDAs yet? Like in the X51v?

I would assume so, it is a standard feature.

Have any companies made announcements of using D3DM? And for any specific games/apps?

Yes, it's included. I'm certain that it's an API set localised to the OS and not device-specific.

Hmmm... Did DELL set up the X51v to make use of the D3DM? Or is that Intel's job?

Quake 3 (http://www.noctemware.com/q3ce.html) might make use of D3DM eventually. Otherwise, there haven't been any major announcements concerning other games.

I'd probably say that it was a little bit of everybody, plus Imagination Technologies (http://www.powervr.com/) as well.

Oh I see. I wouldn't be surprised.

This is one feature that I was looking forward to with WM5, the X51v being a likely suitor but so far all seems very quiet. It seems that any game should be able to draw some benefits from hardware acceleration and this would offer a universal API for developers to use instead of having to encode a X51v 2700g version for example.

Speaking of DirectX and 3D...I just read (& found out) today that a year ago, TapWave announced that they were porting (or were going to port) Neverwinter Nights to the Zodiac. If they did, it would of probably been their biggest game. It's hard for me to imagine that the Zodiac's GPU (optimized for 2D graphics) could actually run a Neverwinter Nights game. Does anyone want to comment? Does this mean that PDAs w/WM5 should be able to do the same thing? Or at least w/a GPU like the Intel 2700g.
