I tried to DL it and install it and it slows my pcoket pc down something fierce. Tried installing it from a microsoft game pack that included ms pacman and dig dug and from a freeware site that the game was by itself. Both instances after opening it, it played choppy and after it was closed it doggged my pocket PC down tremendously. I checked Memory > running programs and nothing was shown as running. Any idea why it would do that?

Did you try this (http://pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=1339) version?
I've tested it on three completely different Pocket PC's (iPAQ 3660, iPAQ 2210 and Pocket Loox 720) and it worked on all of them flawlessly, only consuming 20-35% CPU time during play and exiting normally (that is, the CPU usage dropped to almost 0% after the game).
Did you try deleting gx.dll from the home directory of the app, as is recommended at the above homepage? (I haven't done so, and it still worked flawlessly on all the test PPC's.)
BTW, for an alternative (if you can't make it work, no matter what gx.dll version is in \Windows , check out this (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=43754) thread - another free Pacman clone, just spiced-up my me.
