Greetings all! I'm having some weird issues with bluetooth connectivity between my HP 2215 (ROM 1.10) and Sony Ericsson T616 phone (firmware R1B027).

I can:
- pair the devices just fine, with either the phone initiating the pairing or the iPaq.
- browse files on both devices.
- transfer files between devices.
- send a phone number from the iPaq (using Agenda Fusion) to be dialed on the phone

However, I can't:
- establish a serial port connection from the iPaq to the phone
- establish a DUN connection from the iPaq to the phone

In both of these latter cases, I get the same error on the iPaq: "Unable to establish a connection. Please make sure the device is enabled and in range. Also verify that the requested service is available." Well, the bluetooth radio in the phone is on, and it's sitting next to the iPaq. And both serial port and dial-up networking are on the T616's bluetooth services list.

What I've tried so far:

- soft-resetting the iPaq
- turning iPaq bluetooth off, soft-resetting the iPaq, turning iPaq bluetooth back on
- turning phone bluetooth off, then back on
- turning phone bluetooth off, then turning the phone off and on, and reactivating phone bluetooth
- deleting the pairing on both devices, then re-pairing the devices with the iPaq as the initiating device
- deleting the pairing on both devices, then re-pairing the devices with the phone as the initiating device

Having searched the posts here and at HowardForums, I can't find anyone else who has had this particular problem. And I'm stumped.

Any thoughts?

I'd suggest making a full backup then hard reset your 2210. Check if it works then, which would suggest that's theres some software problem rather than an issue with the stack. If it doesn't, then I haven't a clue, sorry.

Your're lucky. BT on my 2215 is even more problematic. I can't even send a file from my 2215 to my PC (running XP) via BT. To send out a file, I have to first send the file via BT to my phone, then from my phone via BT to the PC.

I would've done a hard reset myself, but my Wi-Fi is now working so well these days (it used to be problematic), and I don't want to have my old Wi-Fi problems back. Backing up is prudent, but sometimes backups don't restore so well ...

I'd def try a reset cuz my 2215 works fine w/ my SE t610 doing all of those things

"Also verify that the requested service is available."

Do you have data service enabled to your phone?
I know some carriers have specifically disabled BT DUN on their phones. Specifically Verizon and Telus.
