Recently I had a chance to review the TORQ P100 and found it to be a great device, except I felt that it needed Windows Mobile 5.0 to stay competitive in the current market. The P100 and P100w are the same device except for the change in operating system, the addition of WiFi, and the device is black instead of metallic. SoundSolutions expects to have the P100w available in October."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/wey-20051001-TORQP100.jpg" /><br /><br />We already knew that the E-TEN M500 would be receiving an <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=42992">upgrade to Windows Mobile 5.0</a>, but Dave Conger has just reported that the <a href="http://www.soundsolutionsam.com/torq/torq1.html">TORQ P100</a> (the U.S. version of the E-TEN M500) will also be receiving an upgrade and will be remodelled as the TORQ P100w. The P100w should arrive in October.

October has come and gone! T-Mobile or anyone else doesn't seem to have one for sale. What is the latest?

The P100w is based on the Worldwide English version of the E-TEN M600 which is currently in the process of shipping. I'm predicting TORQ will have it available sometime during December. Having said that, I doubt you'll see it under a specific carrier.

Okay, thanks for the reply. I think It will work with a T-Mobile sim card, right?

Yes, it will. The P100w (or rather, the M600) supports quad-band GSM/GPRS, so it's fully compatible with T-Mobile's networks.
