Hi,

Orange UK are about to release the new M5000 3G pocket pc phone and I'd really like to get it.

Unfortunately I'm also about to move to New Zealand. I'm planning on signing up to the CDMA service in New Zealand but was wondering if I can just swap the SIM cards like you can with GPRS devices.

Cheers,

Chris

I don't think that CDMA devices use SIM cards.

I thought they had USIM cards or something similar sounding.

CDMA systems can use RUIMs, which are basically CDMA SIM cards, but most systems do not. In any event, the Orange M5000 uses GSM, which isn't at all compatible with CDMA.

Korea is about the only place on the planet that uses those AFAIK.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess I'd better hold off until I get to NZ.

Cheers!
