Error Message When Trying To Play ASX Stream...

Hello there,

When I try to play the CKNW stream
(http://www.cknw.com/shared/corus_content/corus_player/dynamic_multi_asx.aspx?rem=10) via my Pocket PC with Windows Media Player 10 the stream changes to http://64.235.197.234 /CKNWAM and then says
connecting then stops.

I then tried playing the same stream on my PC and then found this stream (http://www.streamtheworld.com/asx/CKNWAM.asx) appearing after the initial stream stopped playing.

However when I tried the streamtheworld.com stream I get the error shown below.

I am wondering if anyone can help me so I can listen to this radio station on my Pocket PC.

hmmm..has it worked for you in the past? I just tried the link and it's not playing anything. I hear a commercial then it just stops. :huh:

Hi,

The original CKNW link does that, hence why I tested it out on my PC and found the streamtheworld link which did not work at all and produced the error that is displayed in the screenshot.

The radio stream is encoded as mp3. (click on properties, while playing on desktop) .
wmp mobile can't handle radio streams encoded as mp3.
It only supports the wma/wmv codec.

Are there any wireless Windows Mobile devices that can play a radio station such as this? http://wava.oneplace.com/ministries/love_worth_finding/Archives.asp

I am considerng a Treo but if a PPC can do this where it cannot, that could be a determining factor.

According to http://www.feederreader.com/mediachart.html
the program GSPlayer can play streaming mp3 files. Might be worth a try. Let me know if it works.
