We'll fill you in with more details as soon as they are made available.

The odd-i? :frusty:

Okay, I take it all back. JASJAR is no longer the dumbest pocket pc name. Didn't take long to be out-stupided.

Seriously, the look is nice, like a Sony_Ericson phone, with the black framed appearance. Too bad about the lack of a stylus slot though.

is it just me, or it is really all the ppc phones r comming out almost the same specifications... i guess intel needs to put some more effort in designing some more powerfull processors and also ppc manufacturers need to start designing devices with bulit it HDD's... anyways, it might be just me thinking this way... forget it :bad-words:

If it's support VFAST, the lack of WiFi might make it worthwhile. Very cool.

While I'm sure the Koreans have their own reasons for choosing the name, maybe the Oxford English Dictionary can make it more interesting to English speakers:

Od. A hypothetical force held by Baron von Reichenbach (1788-1869) to pervade all nature, manifesting itself in certain persons of sensitive temperament (streaming from their finger-tips), and exhibited especially by magnets, crystals, heat, light, and chemical action; it has been held to explain the phenomena of mesmerism and animal magnetism.

Sounds cool to me.

This phone appears to be using Samsung S3C24440A processor. I'm not sure, but Samsung's processor seems to outperform Intel's at the same speed.

What's funny is that most CDMA-based Pocket PC phones, no matter how cool or crazy the specs (remember the one with the TV tuner) will never be officially usable or accepted by the US-based wireless carriers such as Verizon Wireless or Sprint. For one, these carriers are so slow to new technology (less than a year ago or so, Verizon had their first true Bluetooth phone), and they're so protective to make sure it's co-branded with their name and/or stripped of all their integrated features.

That was the sole reason I jumped ship to Cingular. For the most part, you pick a GSM/GPRS/EDGE device that supports the bands you want, pop your SIM card in, configure the internet settings, and off you go!

I feel that Verizon Wireless is tries so hard to hypnotize the public with their "most reliable" campaign, but as a Verizon customer for several years, I was constantly tired of being overshadowed by all the technology Verizon scoffed at. So, in trying to corner their market, in the end, they seem to just be cornering themselves. (Sorry for the rant, but, like I said, this Cingular will switch to CDMA before this CDMA phone will hit Verizon's shelves.)

one of the most idiotic posts I have ever read.

Verizon and Sprint have EV-DO.....GSM carriers have what....EDGE? WOW 384k (burst) ...that is so cutting EDGE.

I also guess you have not seen the PPC 6700....the specs on it blow away any PDA phone on any GSM carrier.

CDMA carriers are FAR from behind the curve.

Too bad cdma phones won't work at my home, or some of my friends houses, or at the in-laws. High speed data doesn't do me much good if i don't have service. :(

Can you hear me now? ....hello...?

That's also the same reason I left Sprint. GSM was cheaper (at the time) and had/has a much better _selection_ of phones.

you must live in the sticks then. I have NEVER been without service with my Sprint phone. Hell I've even been to Hong Kong and had coverage.

In order to be without Sprint coverage, you would have to be where no Sprint towers exist, no digital CDMA carriers exist, and where no AMPS exists.

For some reason I'm just not buying it.

As far as plans go, I have priced a plan like mine on GSM carriers....they can't even come close. Their data rates cost MORE and the speeds are slower. no thanks.

If you read the fine print all the cool new sprint phones no longer support AMPS. Most are NOT dual band and tri mode. None of the vision enabled phones were. So I had to have a digital CDMA Sprint tower because there were no other CDMA towers in my area. Now I believe there might be some Verison towers here or they have just singed roaming with Sprint.
There was absolutly NO GSM coverage here about 2 years ago. But it has just exploded. The CDMA is better than it was but if you leave a highway you have no signal. Even the edges of town have coverage problems. Believe it or not if you want but I live here. :) All those old TDMA towers that covered everwhere have been converted to 850 GSM so the coverage is great! I even have coverage in a town where the entering and leaving town signs are on the same sign post. :D

As for plans i pay $50 a month and get 4 times as many minutes as i can use, 1500 SMS, 500 MMS, unlimited data. That plan is currently not available but it was when i switched. :)

the fact that you have to pay separately for SMS and MMS is quite pathetic.

Remember, not all carriers provide the luxury of an all-in-one messaging fee (whether it be SMS or MMS). You'll find that phone plans vary a lot in different parts of the world - which sort of sucks if you're on a bad plan (and for what it's worth, I'm one of them). ;)
