Unlike some analogs that already exist on the market, VITO Voice2go is not limited to European languages or to some sets of standard commands. User of VITO Voice2go receives a powerful and flexible tool to reduce to a minimum the number of screen taps with the stylus. "</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/wey-20050914-Voice2Go.gif" /><br /><br />There aren't that many voice command applications available for the Pocket PC, so it's good seeing VITO Technology add to the range with the release of Voice2Go. Everything from calling contacts to launching applications can be accomplished with Voice2Go (in a variety of languages too). <a href="http://www.handango.com/ampp/store/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=311&productId=172265&productType=2">Handango</a> is selling the full version for $29.95, and a trial version is available if you wish to test it first. I tried it (trial version) on my Sx66. The Commands part worked well. But, it still asks if the contact that is opened is right even after muliple correct attempts. This does not really help especially for hands free use as you have to tap again on "correct" for it to dial the number. By using the speed dial option I could use less number of taps.
There was no voice based caller ID on this trial version.

Obviously, this is meant to compete with Microsoft Voice Command. The great thing about VC is there is no training involved. You can copy any contact or song onto your device and say "Show Bob Smith" or "Play Paul Simon" and it will do it without any previous training. Can Voice2go do this? I haven't tried it. Maybe someone else can tell me.
Also, VC has an amazing ability to work in noisy environments like cars and offices.
I'd like to see a comparison between the two.

maybe i should give it a try. but if the program can do all that, is there any way to just dictate an email or a word doc. oh for a program that would do that!

I had MS VoiceCommand before on my QVGA device, and it works flawlessly but since I have my VGA device, that is more demanding in RAM and you have to install the program in main memory (RAM) to work. It makes everything else sluggish so I have to turn it off. There is no mentioning about Vito product, where should we install. Will try and see.

Installed it in BIS (Built in Storage). It is OK for memory consumption but even the technology is good, still so many buttons to activate and wait for next action then wait for 3 processes: listen, process and validate then hit correct or wrong...So many thing for being usefull and intuitive.
Using the Magic word, launch the voice2go and go thru the above processes again then when the program get launched, the Voice2go activate again for no reason,.... the the program can be available for use...
Yes, you do have to record contacts, program, command, etc...with your own voice...(sort of training..) to be usable.
Have not found the perfect one yet!
