Hi nevawlkalone, welcome to Pocket PC Thoughts.
All you have to do is open the ActiveSync Manager on the PC, then select Tools > Options > Rules, and modify the Pass Through option to make the device connect to the Internet.
Note if you have ActiveSync 4.0 installed, the procedure has changed a little bit. In that case, you'll have to open File > Connection Settings, and modify the "This computer is connected to..." option - although for this new version of ActiveSync, leaving it at Automatic is suffice.

Pass-through still works whether the PC is connected directly to the internet or through a network. Have you tried restarting your PC and soft-resetting your Pocket PC, just to ensure that the changes have been applied?
In addition, ensure the correct ActiveSync PC synchronisation profile is selected on your Pocket PC (Tools > Options, in ActiveSync).

Tried all dat and no cigar. Oh the agrovation.
Hello everybody.
I am completely new in this forum, but I see it is very interesting; above all the forum for Palm to POcketPC since I have moved from my old Paml m515 to a PocketPC.
I need to transfer all the data that I can, and I hope I can find a solution searching in your posts.
Concerning this subject of the pass throguh internet connection, I am not able to do that. I try from my office, where we use a proxy; I am not sure if this can be the problem, but anyway I do not have any connection created on my PPC in Settings/Connections/Connections. Which steps shold I follow?
Thank you very much for your help.

You could modify the default connection, but I find its easier to create new ones even if the settings are basically the same. You haven't mentioned which PPC you have (there are minor differences between WM2003 and WM2003SE - WM5.0 is another ball game altogether). The following is for WM2003SE, but is pretty similar to WM2003:
1. Under connections, select the advanced tab.
2. Click on the 'Select Networks' button
3. Click the 'New' button (either one, it doesn't really matter)
4. Enter a name for the connection
5. Click on the Proxy settings tab
6. Check both the checkboxes available
7. Click the Advanced button
8. Fill in your proxy information
9. Important: If your proxy requires authentication, check the Socks5 radio button and click on the Socks5 Id and fill in your username and password
10. Make sure everytime you sync with your PC that the correct network connection is selected beforehand, otherwise you'll need to disconnect and reconnect before this will work.

Sorry, all that's on the PPC - AS only provides connection sharing.
