Every few months, ActiveSync forgets my Pocket PC and resyncs everything

Hi -- great posts in this Forum.

Every few months, Activesync no longer recognizes my Pocket PC, and it tries to resync everything from scratch. It says that there are contacts and appointments in both Outlook and the Pocket PC, and it asks if I would like to

- Replace items on Pocket PC with ones in Outlook
- Replace items in Outlook with ones in Pocket PC
- Keep both
- Do nothing

This happens ocassionally -- sometimes monthly, weekly, even daily. It isn't the way this is supposed to work!

Any suggestions? It is Outlook 2002, an HP ipaq 2215 and ActiveSync 8.3.0

I'm assuming you mean ActiveSync 3.8 and not 8.3, and I haven't found anything to prevent it. It happens at least once a month to me (usually much more often, but I sometimes go a few weeks between problems).

I get this occasionally. I used to worry about it, now I just ignore unsynched items and after a while the problem goes away on its own. Usually.

Roll on ActiveSync 8.3.
