I'm using Ipaq 4150 with 400mhz PXA255. I tried both PHM2005 and XCPUScalar 2.85 to do some overclocking and found out there's a feature to set the processor's clockspeed according to cpu load. My questions are :
1) Does setting that really helps in saving batter power?
2) What is the optimal setting ? I tried 0-25(100mhz) 26-50(200mhz) 51-75(300mhz) and 76-100(472mhz) for xcpuscalar ? Is it ok?
3) I faced a bit lag when the speed changes? Is it normal ? Sometimes there is screen tearing.
4) Does using auto scaling damages the processor ? Because the speed will change very often according to load.
I read somewhere that running it at 400mhz uses 8x more power than running in 100mhz mode. Is it true ? Between PHM2005 and XCPU Scalar which one is better? I'm not really into speed but i want longer battery life cos my ipaq can last at most 3 hrs wifi and around 5hrs music, games. using 2 batteries and swapping them everyday.
