It has a good collection of pictures comparing it with devices such as the iPAQ hw6515, HTC Wizard, HTC Magician and Treo 650. The HTC Galaxy contains a Samsung S3C2440 300MHz processor, 32MB RAM, 64MB ROM, a 2.8" QVGA (240x32) screen, integrated GPS, SDIO/MMC functionality, Bluetooth, 802.11b Wi-Fi, and Windows Mobile 5.0. It measures in at 109.7mm x 59.4mm x 17.6mm, and has a weight of 150g.

Translation: French to English (Google)

Do people really want PPC smartphones without integrated keyboards? It seems such a hassle to use the on screen keyboard for any type of serious text entry and very time consuming to set up a BT or foldable keyboard of some kind to use unless you are going to be sitting in one place for a while...

8O WOW This is the ugliest PPC I've ever seen!!!! 8O
What's wrong with you HTC people?
Why the hell did you put a passive display? That means no movie watching, game playing, horrible image quality, etc, etc, etc.... Oh yes, somebody will say.. "but the battery will last longer!!!"
And to make things even worse... IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE!!!
Shame on you HTC!!! 0X

It sure is confusing that they would compare it with a lineup consisting of all ppc phones. So what does 'passive display' mean again? The image makes the screen look fine. I don't think it has anything to do with it being reflective does it?

Without beeing too technical, it's the same technology used on the first generation color laptop displays, where the images get blurry when in motion. So movies and games tend to blur or ghost. Static images look so-so. Active Matrix displays look and perform much better. (I thought passive displays where last decade technology).

The jury is still out as to whether I will buy a PPCPhone with a keyboard, but I can say that I've never missed one on my eten. Not ever having used a built in keyboard, I wonder if text entry would be more of a hassle then just writing like it was a tablet.
The i730 is nice though, too bad its CDMA.

Absolutely. I've never cared for having a keyboard. I take my Tablet PC to meetings without the keyboard. Less buttons means lighter/thiner/smaller and a bigger screen.
Anyway, the article doesn't say what GPS software this device comes bundled with. Any ideas? Not many/any are optimized for Windows Mobile 5 yet.

Yes, my "keyboard" comments were assuming this was a phone device, sorry!
Yeah, a non phone device would not be so dependent upon a keyboard, IMO, but a phone device is so much better with one!
