The pilot program, called MobileU, will explore the ways students are already communicating and find out if one mobile device can meet their needs and enhance academic and student life."

Wake Forest University is playing with Pocket PCs as part of a pilot program, however as a confessed academic myself, I wonder of its effectiveness. When students are given technology like this, or forced to buy it, it's rare that the academic goals of the program trump the desire of the students to do fun things with their new toys. However, if there was a device I'd say would be built for campus communication, note taking, and a good amount of fun built in, it would be a PPC PE.
