I would like to purchase a unit which will be used primarily for web browsing. I am capital "S" STUPID when it comes to ppc's so please keep that in mind when replying.

What add-on's, if any, would you recommend?

What sort of speeds can I expect if just using bluetooth along with a cellphone?

Again, I have never owned a ppc and this will be my first foray into this. Any beginner's advice would be greatly apprciated.

Thank you.

For speeds, that will vary according to your phone and carrier. Anywhere from 56k modem speeds (or slower!) up to cable modem speeds, but it all depends on the network you're connecting to.

Thank you.

Any idea on how I can compare speeds of the different carriers in my area?

PDA's are poor internet terminals. If this is your primary purpose then I advise against buying one. Maybe a small mini-tabletpc would be more appropriate?

If you use compression (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=360414), then, the speed won't be that bad.

However, as the others have also pointed out, the PPC has quite bad browsers compared to a "real" Windows/Linux PC.
