Handango has decided to not list any freeware on their OTA catalog.
OTA = Over The Air, and that's the software that you can download directly to the Pocket PC (in the form of CAB files) by going to Handango directly with your wireless access using Pocket Internet Explorer.
Handango claims that it costs them money to distribute freeware OTA. In fact it does not cost them more than distributing freeware on their normal catalog, so I don't think this argument holds any water. Most of the cost is in fact payed by the user (i.e. wireless service), not by Handango.
Of course, PocketGear (the largest competitor of Handango) provides access to freeware OTA, so people should use PocketGear to download freeware directly to their Pocket PC with wireless access.
