Thanks for the reply. I guess I should've mentioned that I'm running Windows Mobile 2003, and no matter what version of AIM I try, none of them works, even the one above. Any other ideas?

There's also Agile Messenger (http://www.agilemobile.com/agile_messenger.html) which supports multiple IM services.

I'll second that as well. Agile Messenger works really well on my x50v. It even has more up-to-date features at least for the ICQ module than the ICQ PocketPC Client has!

Agile Messenger is free too, can't beat that. :)

Man, 0 for 2....no matter what I try to download, I get the error that it's not a valid Pocket PC application. Am I doing something wrong here, or what?

Did you try running the exe on your desktop? It's probably a desktop installer that installs the program through activesync :)

As mscdex stated, it's probably a desktop installer which you will need to execute on your Windows desktop and install through ActiveSync.

As a general guide, CAB files are local device installers while EXE files (unless otherwise specified) are desktop installers designed to run through ActiveSync. There are exceptions to this rule, of course.

What!? I thought Agile was no longer free... there was even an update stating that on ppcthoughts a while back.

I remember reading the same article somewhere on their site about it. But apparently it's still available for free download. Get it while you can :)

As far as I'm aware, the billing system is implemented through the carrier, though it is still a free download.

To be honest, I've not touched Agile in a while so I haven't been following the new pay-as-you-use system that they've introduced. Perhaps someone with first-hand experience could chime in with their two cents.

Well, I'm in the same category as you. Never used it much and ditched it after a hard reset then read about fees and never reinstalled it.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the fees were exactly off-hand, but I do remember reading that they were charging or agile messenger somehow.

I've been using agile messenger on my axim x50v for 4 days now, and I really like it. I've only used the ICQ part so far (which has better features than the official ICQ PPC client), and it works great. The UI is definitely designed much better than ICQ's PPC client.

I will try the other protocols soon.

But I’d like to suggest another one…
IM+ works with AIM quite surely as well as with the rest of monsters, I mean ICQ, MSN, Jabber, Yahoo.
Find IM+ for PPC at
http://www.shapeservices.com/eng/im/PPC/
Good luck!

I got it for free through handango last year when they were giving out free programs, but it didn't click... i like Agile better for some reason.

Which reason?
Actually, I have IM+ (http://urlhttp://www.shapeservices.com/eng/im/PPC/) v.3.16 version.
I think my one is newer one (and for money), so better!
Free stuff all the way was unfinished.
Agile, if I'm right, doesn't support Jabber...(?)
