OK. Pocket PC security is important for these reasons:

1) Credit and banking data falling into the wrong hands would be very bad.
2) Confidential phone numbers and addresses falling into the wrong hands would be very bad.
3) Personal shopping lists and to do's falling into the wrong hands would be very bad.

Actually, for someone like me who does keep a lot of sensitive information--both personal and professional--on my PPC it IS important to make sure that only those with permission have access to the data.

I've looked at this app before, but I'm not crazy about the preloaded images to choose between. But, I'll take you up on this offer in the hopes that future customization options will follow so that I can choose more of my own VGA images to use as my password screen.

Nice offer/try -- but it appears that after several hours I'm not the only one that thinks ithis is too much trouble/effort.

Agreed. I just don't see the need for this type of application (personally), and I'm not too impressed with your website.

Wow ! Several hours ? Trouble / effort ? Not sure which app you're using, but it's not Pocket Secure ! :roll:

Well, if you don't value your personal security, then this isn't for you ! But if you ever have your personal info stolen, then you would agree that $3.50 is a very small cost !

As for my website ! I'm not a website developer. It just provides the info ! If you can do better, please show me !!! If you don't like mine, it's simple, "don't go there" ! :wink:

Oh, I definitely value my personal security, I just don't see the need for this program. My iPAQ came with ProtectTools which will wipe the device, plus the standard 4-digit or alpha-numeric password screen. I just reread your other post (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=42142) and the information on the website, and (correct me if I'm wrong), I just see this program as a way to instantly pull up that lock screen.

Oh, I'm not saying every programmer/businessman is great at web design, but a sign of a good company is one that has invested in a well-designed site. Start by spending the $5-10 to have a domain name, add on another $5-10 for hosting, and in time either learn some better design tips or hire someone to do the site for you. Some basic tips, don't use images where they aren't needed, animation should be seldom used, try to fill the page rather than having everything in the upper-left corner, and for a business site, there really shouldn't be a hit counter or guestbook -- maybe a conact form, but not a guestbook (unless you want a public feedback form, but that's entirely different). Also, the information in your other post (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=42142) is much better at describing your product than what is on the home and info pages of your site. You know your product better than anyone -- tell every neat/useful thing about it. :)

Well OSUKid7, feel free to trash my work until you feel good ! I'm a very small developer starting out who doesn't even come close to making a living from this !

Thanks for your 'Wisdom' :roll:

:? I realize you're just starting out, and I don't feel that I trashed your work at all. I'm just explaining why I don't feel the need to buy your product -- that doesn't mean others won't find it fully useful, but for me, I don't see the need.

And it's great that you're starting out as a developer and you don't have to depend on it as your primary income. I'm just giving you my advice, as I would hope others would for me. A domain name and web hosting aren't a big cost, and IMHO, make the website much more professional. I don't claim to be great at web design, but some of the changes I recommended are fairly easy to implement, such as removing needless animated images.

Finally, this is all just my opinion. If you don't like it, that's your choice. I'm sorry if my advice came off as complaining, but rolling your eyes at prospective customers isn't what I'd call appealing.

Well, after buying it, I can say that I am satisfied. I have a VGA-sharp picture of my daugher serving as my security/password screen. :D

I've used NiceStart, and I've thought about 1-Pass, but I'm glad I chose this more affordable and suitable option for me and my X50v.

I also was very pleased with the support offered when I had a few questions.

Do I love the PocketSecure Website? No. Is that a big problem for me? No.

Choices and options are a couple of the things that help to make capitalism such a force for innovation and creativity. :wink:

Good lord, why are you putting spaces before your punctuation marks??? And do you have some sort of personal bias against the period? Not every sentence deserves an exclamation point.

WOW, what is it with people on this forum ?????

Is there nothing better to do than 'trash' what others do ?

First it is a problem with my website. Now, you have nothing better to do then "complain" about my punctuation !!!

Here are a few periods for you so maybe you too will feel better about your life............................................................................................. :roll:

Guys and gals, please tone down the flaming. Is it really that necessary?

Just to sort of bring this thread back to a sensible place: I took advantage of the offer, bought the app, and received my PP rebate. No one tricked me to get me to do it, I had seen this app on another forum and thought it looked interesting to me. (I wanted a customized security feature, and was disappointed with NiceStart on my VGA device, and had no interest in trying another Omega One product after previous bad experiences.)

This app has been just what it said it was. I've found the suppport to be helpful and fast, too. Is it a perfect app or an app for everyone? I doubt it, but it works for me and I'm anxiously awaiting future features and free upgrades.

If you don't want it or don't want to participate in the offer on the thread, that's fine, but is it really necessary to pick him, his offer, his product and his grammar apart? I think not.

@Darius Wey,
My appologies once again :oops: I have a good program that I am trying to offer to the people of this forum at a really good price !
I should take the adult position here, and not let myself get 'sucked-into' a stupid conversation with unhappy people. I have sold a good number of apps at full price, and really don't have to do this, but I see this as a good forum and wanted to give everyone here a chance for a great discount ! ! !

@xdalaw,
Thank you for the support, and I will do all that I can to make sure that you and everyone else who purchased Pocket Secure, keeps enjoying it now and in the future :way to go:
