Yeah, and I suppose that's the only thing that matters, although I wish a Dell PPC could get into the top 5 most popular models. Although, PriceGrabber really wouldn't represent the great majority of Dell Axim purchases, given that people who buy those usually order from Dell.com itself.

Actually, I've seen a number of polls running on multiple sites which rate the Axim X50v as being one of the best Pocket PCs around. Red Dot also recognised (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=41315) it as being a spectular device.

In fact, based on the current X50/X50v line, there's no reason why Dell should be losing money over the Axim line. It's been a huge success for Dell over the past year.

I love my x50v, but will probably never buy another Dell product again!

I am just having way to many problems dealing with their support on an issue with my notebook.

To be fair, mobility includes laptops also, so we cant readily discern the influence of handheld devices.

I however found one thing interesting in that article. They talked about Dell selling desktops for $300. Thats less than a handheld device. The profit margin must be razor thin there. I understand the profit margin for PDA's are about 20%. Its quite likely that PDA's would be a market they would like to pursue further, especially if they can sell them AND a desktop/laptop.

Dells US stock has lost a huge chunk (Read 10%) of its price just recently, so whatever the result for the "mobility" sector it couldn't have been that rosy.

Yes but they are still the leader in this very competitive segment. And they are still ahead of their long-term projected goal. So in the final analysis, Dell is still darn rosy.
