This problem (if you save a Web page from the two above-mentioned PIE plug-ins, or just locate and copy the cached HTML files off the PIE cache as described in for example here (http://www.ipaqhq.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20402)) has always been causing a lot of headache around the Pocket PC community.
Now that I’m working on my latest PPC Web browser roundup, I’ve played with these files a bit and am proud to say it’s not a secret any more. These files are compressed with GZIP and can be very easily uncompressed and then, read with any Web browser.
Just rename these files to have a .gz extension and decompress them. Under Windows, use the .EXE file found at GZip.org (http://www.gzip.org/gzip124xN.zip) (main page here (http://www.gzip.org/); use the -d parameter for decompression); on the Pocket PC, CrunchIT for PPC (http://www.noisette-software.com/products/pocketpc/CrunchIt/) from Noisette Software (unfortunately, the ZIP support in Total Commander/Resco/SPP won’t work – they are not GZIP-compliant).
