Changed new battery, but my Ipaq 3835 still doesn't hold a charge

I have an ipaq 3835 which does not hold a charge when taken off its crater, even after over a week of continuous charging. While on its crater, its syncs perfectly with my laptop and comes on as normal as the first day I bought it.

I thought it was a dead battery, so I bought a new one and replaced it. Symptons are the same as the above with the old battery.

I then brought it to a local authorized HP Compaq service center and the technician could not figure out what is going on with it. :cry:

If anyone could help, please advise. Any clues or suggestions no matter how minor will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Have you watched the device closely after you pull it off the cradle? How does the battery progress as you use it? Does it turn off immediately?

If it turns off immediately, part of the main logic board might be at fault. If it progresses quickly, it's harder to say.
