I'm just curious, what do you guys have against the PSP? It's the most flexible gaming device out there right now, although, it doesn't have the variety of games that the GBA has, it does have multiple emulators that are available for it which pretty much gives it limitless access to games.

Nothing against the unit, just think its downright stupid that people are still thinking its gonna be some sort of PDA replacement along the way and bought into the silly hype that surrounded its launch.
Sony fueled the hype with their statements as well(We will take handheld gaming out of the ghetto, we are not competing with Nintendo instead we are delivering a new platform that will change the playfield forever etcetera etcetera).

Its the same crap they pull with every launch and the people seemingly keep falling for it(also look at the will change the world and paradigm shift statements with regards to the so called Emotion Engine in PS2 and the its so advanced and powerfull its generational leaps ahead so the platform will srand for a decade claims, claims I might add which they are now repeating for Cell and PS3).

Its silly and stupid.

Its silly and stupid.

But that makes them no different than Microsoft. Vista looks to be the most underwhelmimg Windows release since 98, and the most positive features they've removed, about all that is left is the GPU-accelerated GUI, which Apple has had in OSX for a few years now. Same with WM 2005.

As for the PDA functionality, my take, at least as to why Sony would add it, is that it seems like they killed the Clie, so that it wouldn't interfere as much as with any future PSP sales. Also, since the PSP's file structure for videos is very similar to the Clie's, I could or would assume, that they could just as easily add more functions. It probably won't happen, but that doesn't make me or others stupid for hoping they will.
