How to keep recording of voicemail messages?

I have i-mate PDA2k (HTC Blue Angel) and i-mate JAM (HTC Magician).

I've been wondering, how can I keep a local recording of my voicemail messages?

That is, what software can I get to be able to record my carrier voicemail messages and store them as local sound files (MP3, WAV, whatever)?

People often leave me messages with important details, and sometimes I forget to write them down before my voicemail box is full or older messages get auto-deleted.

One way I could think of is to get one of those adapters to use your cellphone as your house landline source. You know, one of those bases that connect to your house phone wiring (and where your cellphone plugs into).

Then, I could just get one of the phone line audio recorders I guess, then start the recording when I playback the voicemail messages. But I want a solution to use directly on my PPC.
