I've been seeing some massively cheap new and used CF Type II microdrives. I've ordered an X50v today and although I've read about the iffy reliability of MDs, I don't see how one can go wrong for that price.

Some are used 4GB hitachis from Ipod Minis:

This seems too good to be true, what do you guys think?

For one thing, they're not $2 per GB, they'll probably be $120 per drive by the end of the auction. And those used iPod drives likely won't work. Most MP3 player microdrives are locked into an OEM IDE mode, to prevent people from pulling the drives and using them.
