I bought one off Ebay and all was good until the speaker started working when it wanted to a few days after recieving it. I can't seem to figure out how to make it work when it's not. Anyone know a fix for it? I emaied a repair site and they said i'd need a new mainboard :?

One common cause for the speaker not working is if the headphone jack is stuck. Have you been using headphones? Does the audio work through there? If so, try connecting/disconnecting headphones a few times to see if the jack unsticks.
(If it doesn't work through headphones, it's most likely something else is causing your trouble.)

I've tried plugging and unplugging countless times. Sometimes it works when I bang on the screen (not something I like doing). Any other solutions other than the 200$+ Replacement?

I think that youll be lucky to get a replacement as they are no-longer sold.
