With the latest coupon, I finally bit on an X50v, extra battery, 2 yr warranty, free shipping, etc. for $298.
That is TOO good a price, SOOOOO with my luck Dell must be dumping their inventory to make room for some HOT new pdas to make me wish I had waited..........
If anyone likes the sound of that price, order up the $418 special and apply this coupon: JDDBDD1213FWWH for another $120 off.

OUCH! It has been only 25 days since I paid the $418!!!
But I still think I got a bargain - it is a great PDA.

Wouldn't you know it, 1 hour after placing the order, I get another Dell Hot Deal email for the X50v + Bluetooth GPS Navigation System for $397.
I don't think I would have bit on it though. I'd rather take the cheaper deal with extra battery and shop for the exact GPS solution I want.
Now I have to get busy buying VGA-supported software. Oh yeah, and a case. Screen protector. Can't forget the GPS. What have I done???? I'm gonna spend another $1000 in accessories!!!!

I knew something had to happen. Dell sent me a nice email saying there has been an unforseen problem and my order won't be shipped for August 19! Three weeks after I order it. How could 6500 people ordering their PDA be unforseen? They were the ones that limited it to 6500!.... :(
At least they weren't coming after me for more money.
Probably the most distrurbing part was the email's subject line: First Notification of Order Delay
How many delay notices are they planning on sending me? 8O

Just to help any hangers-on like me, this coupon apparently expired the day after the original post on the 27th. Good while it lasted, but not there any more.

Danged Americans!
Dell UK never do discounts on PDAs as far as I can see. In fact, when I called them about the fact they were charging almost a third more than they were in the US they (Indian callcentre) had the nerve to tell me that the UK price was better. When I pointed out that I was buying one from the US from a secondary supplier for £150 (this was when the dollar was a $1.98/£) less than they would sell me it they didn't care. Actually, it took them 15 minutes tofind someone in the callcentre who knew what an Axim actually was 8O , but that's another story...

And I thought $320 was a good deal! Oh well, I guess the coupon always looks greener on the fence.
