It is wonderful gesture isn't it?

London is returning to normality.

Shame they couldn't get the date right on the download page though - was 7 July not 11 July i.e 77 not 711

I'm not so sure. It is a special edition that incorporates the current service changes, meaning it takes into account the lines / stations that are currently closed because of the investigation. As soon as everything is back to normal and the lines are open, the current free version will be less useful. That’s when you will be required to buy the normal version.

On first sight it looks more like a smart (inappropriate?) marketing stunt than a wonderful gesture. Or am I too negative now? :( :?:

I used Tube in Munich, London, Paris and Amsterdam last year.
As a visitor, the software was very helpful and is highly recommended.

It was particularly helpful in Paris, where English is somewhat eschewed by the Metro employees (there were several "We don't speak English signs at Metro ticket booths), and in Amsterdam where the pronunciation of a stop's name and it's spelling don't follow English rules. People in all of the countries were, regardless, very helpful and accomodating!

Why is there always one who is willing to nit pick about such insignificant matters when someone makes such a generous and thoughtful gesture. Shame on you! :(

Apologies if you think this is a nit-pick - I feel that the least they could do is get the date right.

:confused totally:

I used this program to help me navigate London a couple years back and it's terrific. Wonderful gesture from the developers regardless of whether it's only good for the interim or not.

Look getting the date wrong was just an error! We all make em! Give us a break!

I've used the Boston and DC versions of Tube, and I find it a really attractive and useful app. The free version seems like a very generous gesture, and if it also generates some good PR, I don't see anything wrong in that.
