New iPAQ hw6500 refutes all those allegations – I have not seen so much innovation packed in a single device for a long time. I was as lucky as to be able to try the device briefly before its official launch, so here are my first impressions."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/parekh-20050713-PDAgoldhw6500.jpg" /><br /><br />Pavel finally got the permission necessary to publish this article, and while it's not a complete review, this preview is still up to PDAgold's standards, with nice screenshots and a good overview of the hw6500's features.

the screen does not convince me at all. I doubt that many developers will create versions of their programs for a type of screen that itīs just a very small % of the market.

Wow, look at the pictures of the gps software. that is the same software that came with my GPS hardware. There is alot fo the screen missing! No scroll bar either... 8O Those blue boxes you see at the botom are supposed to be the signal strength for each satalite and there is more data below. And on the setup page you are missing the data window at the bottom. Very scarry if that software is actually built in. 8O

GPS Viewer is not exactly a current piece of software. It's been around as freeware for quite some time as more of a troubleshooting tool for GPS connections. It is certainly not dynamic screen aware as things need to be to support WM2003SE screen configurations. You are right in that it would be sad if that were included in ROM in the production units. Hopefully that won't be the case.

Nice article. If you want us to see it next time, send us a link through the Submit News page. As gung-ho as we may be, we can't be in a million places at once, so it's easy for us to miss a bit of news here and there. :)

Got myself an hw6515 recently and I luv it. It works well with Spectec SDIO WiFi card. I'm waiting for Spectec's August release of their completely recessed MiniSD WiFi card.
