<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.chapura.com/pmp_wm.php' target='_blank'>http://www.chapura.com/pmp_wm.php</a><br /><br /></div>"PocketMirror Professional for Windows Mobile is the only Outlook synchronization software that does both of the following: <li> Synchronize multiple Outlook Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks folders with the corresponding Pocket Outlook applications on the handheld, AND<br /><li> Synchronize Outlook folders and categories on your PC with corresponding categories on your Windows Mobile handheld or smartphone." <img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/parekh-20050711-PocketMirror.gif" /><br /><br />Wow, Chapura's back with some big news: <i>someone</i> has attacked the multiple-folder problem and come up with a solution that Windows Mobile users have been begging for. The last time I used Chapura's PocketMirror product was when I sync'ed my Palm to Outlook for the last time, ever; if their previous products are any indication, this solution should work well. Has anyone ponied up the cash and given it a spin? (Alas, there is no trial, at least at this time. :|)

Yeah I would think that any product that is not free should offer a trail. It doesn't seem to be a big problem to do. A lot of software makers offer a trial for software costing $5-10. A piece of software costing $50 is a really high price to pay when you don't even know if the solution will work for you.

It does seem that this software would work for me and I would really love to give it a spin but I guess I'll have to wait until either a trail or a nice long discussion thread convinces me as this solution will work (for me). I sure hope so.

Yeah but that's just a hassle. What's the problem with offering a trail. Is it a bigger deal than I think to create one.

What I want is to not have my email deleted off my pc when I delete them from my pcc.

I'd try it but the risk is too high.

If it doesn't do proper category filtering, then I'm left with my personal data on my work exchange server.

We offer trial software for everything EXCEPT Journal Sync. Why? Because its an ActiveSync plugin. Same with Chapura. Its extremely difficult to do a trial on an ActiveSync plugin correctly.

I think for this type of software, the 100% guarantee is a good compromise.

Ironically, my Intellisync just started a spree of failures again for some unknown reason.

I emailed them about category filtering.

You and me both!

That's why I don't read my email on PPC. I WAS checking my Webmail via WiFi, but Earthlink changed their login page and I can't sign in with PPC.

BTW what month is 'late summer?' I want WM5! :D

Thanks Alex but your Journal Sync was pretty cheap ($8-9 when I bought it) and it was much easier to take a chance but compared to $50 I just can't jump on that as fast. But I guess that you did explained the 'no trail' issue. I would hope that since they've been around long enough that the guarentee would not be a hassle. But I think that I'll wait a wee bit longer with the hope of hearing some first hand reviews.

Now I'm curious :-) . What's the correct way?
We have a trial for an ActiveSync plugin: SyncExpress - synchronization of Oulook Express e-mail and Address Book.

I suspect what he means that it's hard to do a trial that will expire without completely ruining your Outlook installation but at the same time restricting access to the working product for a finite time.

Ok,

So will this software then let me now sync my wifes calendar to my ppc and then view it on my ppc?

If this is using the standard databases on the ppc, after you sync with this can you then view the other calendars in PI?

The biggest issue I have right now are being able to see multiple calendars on my ppc. I would love to have my wife's calendar on my ppc along with the calendars of all my staff also. Even if the other calendars were read only it would be a plus.

Does this software fill this need? I really couldn't tell from the website, but then again i wasn't looking really hard. :)

Hi Group,

I have also been looking for information about this product. I saw a good explanation of it on the TekGuru site (tekguru.co.uk), very thorough with a LOT of explanations and pictures, it answered most of my technical questions (I have lots of those being a newbie to pocket PCs!) but I was hoping to hear average guy off the street opinions as well. Sometimes the techie people forget that there are lots of us that are not as saavy about technology!! This is the first forum I found with discussion about it so Ill beg my question (How do you like it and is it worth it?) be answered here :)

Thanks!
Ann

OK - I bit - but it bites! After using Pocket Mirror on my Palm and loving it, I thought I'd give this version a try. Installed easily enough but took forever to sync. When I opened Outlook, I saw why. It had copied everyting - addresses, tasks, appts., the works - to my iPaq 4700 at least twice (and in some cases, as many as 4 times!) - as well as making some actions in PocketInformant inoperable.

According to Chapura's customer support (which was very responsive) "PocketMirror Pro for Windows 1.0 does not support 3rd party PIM applications in the handheld". However, I didn't find anything in the description of the product at their website that warned buyers of this.

End result - I had to uninstall and reinstall PI, and then go through Outlook and delete the duplicates because Outlook did not catch them. May be a good product if you don't use a 3rd party PIM but I can't do without PI so I'm getting my $ back.

I wonder why this is - as far as I know Pocket Informant uses the same databases as the built-in apps, doesn't it? If it's the same data base how would things get messed up when syncing. I think there is something else going wrong here.

For those who want to try this, but are scared by the $50/price. I received a 50% off code from Chapura - they say to share it with friends and co-workers - so you are all now officially my friends!!

Use the promotion code WMHALF for 50% off using this link:
www.chapura.com/wmhalf

I hope nobody else runs into the same issues as lgshaw.

Don't know but believe that PocketMirror creates its own DB - at least that's the way it appeared. The synchronization went way beyond that normally done by activesync. I even had an alarm come up that was more than a year old! They did tell me that support of 3rd party PIM's was something that they may be interested in doing in the future.

Thanks!!! :-) I used your coupon and it did get 50% off.

However, when I try to use it with my contacts and calender stuffs. It turns out it cannot support Chinese. All my contact names changed to "????". I've sent an email to them and hopefully will get a response soon.

PocketMirror is now offering a 21-Day trial here (http://www.download.com/PocketMirror-Professional-for-Windows-Mobile/3000-2156-10427259.html?part=dl-PocketMir&amp;subj=dl&amp;tag=button).

I'm wondering if anyone is currently using this product. I'm still looking for a solution to drop Intellisync.

All I need is true category filtering. :bad-words:

It looks like ActiveSync 4.0 will not solve my issue and Intellisync is too burdensome.
