Hello,

I'm studying rx3115 Media Companion and I see that it has a remote control. Is it Nevo? If yes, what new models do not have Nevo remote control embedded?

Thx,
rim

Hi-o

I have a 2215, and while it used to have Nevo on it, stored in the Rom-based backup area, since I hard-reset it, the program is not working anymore. I expect it is due to the registry entries and such that were lost in the reset but I thought you might want to be aware that after the reset the app doesn't work again w/o re-install, even though it was installed in the protected area.

The latest "flagship" model the HP iPaq hx4700 doesn't have NEVO.

Among the new models, you'd only be looking at the rx3000 Mobile Media Companion series for the Nevo package. While it is a nice solution, HP has not offered Windows Mobile 5.0 support for the series, so its future lifespan may be a little thin. If I were you, I'd look at the hx4700, the hx2000 series, or perhaps another manufacturer's device (e.g. Dell Axim X50v, Fujitsu-Siemens LOOX 720), since you can easily replicate the Nevo experience with other software.

You may also want to read this thread on available remote controller apps / hardware (http://discussion.brighthand.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=115572). With hardware-based solutions, you'll be able to remote control devices even with non-CIR-enabled PDA's (that is, as far as current PDA's are considered, non-rx3xxx's / Pocket Loox 718/720's).

That's strange. I have a 2210 that has been hard reset maybe 10 times, and Nevo's still working. Of course I had to set it up again for my TV and DVD player.

I didnt even have to set it all up again. It was all in the filestore.
