So far I've been underwhelmed by page load speeds. In fact some pages are loading slower then they did on the Treo 600. I am in a 1X area and that's the connection being used for internet access. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Which device are you using? I get good webpage load speeds on my Mini with GPRS.

Can't wait for opera to release their browser for Windows Mobile for PPC though!!

I find Pocket IE to be painfully slow at times. NetFront is usually faster.

I'm in a 1x area also. The speed seems comparable to using 802.11b with cable broadband. Not spectacular but not bad, and always on.

No offense but you must have a serious router misconfiguration problem because 802.11b with/cable is MUCH faster then 1x even on a bad day.

If you say so. I am merely reporting my observations, based upon several routers, PPCs and cable systems.

Update: I was WRONG!

802.11b IS faster than 1x or EV.
