Hi there!

I have a T-Mobile MDA compact (from T-Mobile Austria).
I use it for a few months now. and until saturday, everyting worked as it should. but saturday evening, i could open the "Programs" folder from the startmenu anymore. And also the "Messages" application i have set my record button to, doesnt start anymore. not even when i receive a message. only agenda fusion works if started with the hardware buttons, and so does the camera application. i cant do anything else anymore. touching "Programs" or anything except the Settings from the startmenu doesn't have any effect.

so i did a hardreset. everything works fine again. but when i restore older sprite backups, backups i made when the device was fully working!, i get the same problem again, that no application starts, except agenda fusion and the camera app when triggered with a hardware button.

can anybody help me here? i would hate to reinstall everything and put back all my settings and data.

thanks a lot

best regards
-berny

Sounds like an ugly problem and it's likely due to some configuration or misbehaving program that is part of the image. If you can't figure out what change happened on your device just before this issue arrived, then unfortunately, there may be no way around this except to hard-reset and then install your apps one-by-one. After each app, test the behavior or your device to see what's happening. I would also take some back-ups as you go so that once you identify the bad program, you don't have to reinstall everything again.

The issue with ActiveSync does sounds like a different issue. Try reinstalling ActiveSync (a good time to do so might be when you do your next hard-reset).
