View Full Version : Ipaq 3850 won't hard reset

I have a ipaq 3850 that has just had a new battery installed. It now won't install the software for the Compaq bluetooth expansion pack; the instructions say try (another?) hard reset but the unit will not hard reset at all.
When I follow instructions and press two outer lower buttons and use the stylus, it behaves like a soft reset.
Any thoughts please?
Thank you

You have to press and hold the two buttons while holding your stylus in the reset hole until the screen fades to black. Then just push your stylus in the reset hole to get back to the setup screen.

If that doesn't work, I used to have a launcher that can do soft and hard resets. Forgotten what it was though.

A variety of software can trigger the hard reset for you. Tweaks2k2.net comes to mind off the top of my head, although I'm sure there are others (Although it probably doesn't matter if you install freeware or trialware, as you're doing a hard reset anyway!)

And welcome to PPCT, Vicki.
